WHAT IS EMIRATES REIT?

Emirates REIT was launched in November 2010 with a lot of fanfare, based on the concept that as a fund it can tap a wider pool of investors to take exposures in property assets. The REIT concept had worked quite well in the US and Europe, and it was felt the UAE real estate sector would add more depth from such funds operating here. Emirates REIT listed on Nasdaq Dubai in April 2014. The REIT now owns eleven commercial properties in Dubai, with a total net leasable area of 2.4 million square feet.
