TERRORIST ACT CONDEMNED
The World Muslim Communities Council has strongly condemned the terrorist act in Paris, which led to the death of a primary school teacher. Renewing its call to unify efforts and initiatives to combat terrorism and confront hate speech, the Council also stressed on the importance of containing hate speech and violent extremism on social media through strong laws and legislation.
Abu Dhabi Declaration
The Council also called for the execution of the “Abu Dhabi Declaration to Criminalise Electronic Terrorism” which outlines the need for an agreement between all nations to fight cyber terrorism. It was the outcome of the International Conference for the Criminalisation of Cyber Terrorism held in Abu Dhabi in May 2017.
