■ Nobody including Signal has access to the messages or content transferred on the messenger app
■ App requires only a phone number to register and obtain a unique user ID Signal also has a feature to self- destruct messages
■ There is also a ‘ Note to Self’ option
■ No cloud storage option, so if you lose the data there’s no chance of getting it back
■ Signal is free of ads and the app is run by a non- profit organisation that does not sell your data
