VACCINATION, TESTING HAS LED TO DECLINE IN CASES

- Gulf News Report

The UAE has overcome the Covid-19 crisis and life is returning to normal as cases decline thanks to widespread vaccination, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said yesterday.

Addressing attendees at his Qasr Al Bahr Majlis in Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Mohammad said: “I want to reiterate that life has started to go back to normal in the UAE, be it at work, educational facilities, or in our daily habits and activities, while taking precautionary measures into consideration.”

Three factors contributed to return to normality

He stressed that three factors have contributed to bringing life to normality: Widespread vaccination, continuity of testing and availability of the latest treatments.

The UAE yesterday reported 156 new cases, 216 recoveries and three deaths. Daily cases have dropped below 200 in the last four days with active cases currently at 4,813.

The UAE, which is among the countries with the highest vaccination distribution, has provided 20.32 million vaccine doses at a rate of 205.46 doses per 100 people.

Shaikh Mohammad also offered his condolences to everyone who lost a loved one to the coronavirus.

“2020 was a tough year with many challenges,” he observed. “However, the UAE, with the grace of God, was able to be at the forefront of countries that managed to overcome the crisis, at a time other countries were facing a lot of difficulties.”

Shaikh Mohammad concluded his speech by thanking God. “We thank God for everything. We have overcome the crisis with ease and grace, and we have learned a lot of lessons, despite the difficulty and intensity of the crisis,” he said.

The UAE is successfully on path to the Covid-19 pandemic recovery. The good news came through His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, during a gathering at Qasr Al Bahr Majlis yesterday in Abu Dhabi.

“We overcame the Covid-19 crisis and emerged stronger. We learnt lessons and experiences. As life in the UAE has started to return to normal, we thank Allah,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

Returning to normality

“Today is a blessed day as we see you all here. Tributes and thanks

He also offered his condolences to everyone who lost a loved one due to the coronavirus, saying, “2020 was a tough year with many challenges. 2020 was a difficult year with great challenges. But the UAE, thank God, was able to be one of the first countries to emerge from the crisis stronger at a time when some states have encountered major difficulties.”

Falling cases

Shaikh Mohammad’s reassuring message comes after reports of new Covid-19 cases in the UAE have been falling steadily since early August. He pointed out that the newly detected cases in the country have dropped to less than 500 cases, indicating that coronavirus is under control and less dangerous than ever.

He added: “2020 was a difficult year with great challenges. But the UAE, thank God, was able to be one of the first countries to emerge from the crisis stronger at a time when some states have encountered major difficulties.”

Contributing factors

Shaikh Mohammad said three factors contributed to the return of normal life: availability of vaccines and the continuity of PCR tests in addition to the availability of some modern treatments in the UAE and many countries across the world.
