More than 500 doctors have been granted UAE Golden Visas in view of their service to the community. The doctors were also recognised during a virtual ceremony held recently by the emirate’s health care regulator.

The Department of Health (DoH), held the ceremony in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Residents Office (ADRO), a division of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) that manages residential affairs.

“In implementation of the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to grant Golden Visa to those supporting the health care system in the UAE, and given their continuous distinguished services, the DoH has recognised more than 500 doctors who obtained the Golden Visa in reflection of their efforts. This came as part of Abu Dhabi’s commitment to empower global talent and help them achieve their aspirations,” the DoH said in a statement yesterday.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the DoH leadership team, including Abdullah Al Hamed, chairman of DoH, Dr Jamal Al Kaabi, DoH undersecretary, of DOH and Hareb Al-Muhairi, adviser at the ADRO.

“The health care sector plays an important role in shaping the future of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Over the past year, we have seen the impact our health care professionals have made on our community,” Al Hamed said.

DoH and ADRO have announced that more health care practitioners will be recognised, with additional groups of doctors scheduled to be rewarded with the Golden Visas.

More partnerships

“We hope to open up a world of opportunities for many with these awards, and look forward to more partnerships with all government entities,” said Mohammad Ali Al Shorafa, ADDED chairman.

The Special Talent Golden Visa for doctors reiterates the importance accorded to health care for the safe future and success of the region, with access to long-term residency aiming to help Abu Dhabi’s exceptional health care professionals to settle in the emirate.
