- ISLAMABAD BY ZUBAIR QURESHI Correspondent

For the third consecutive day, Pakistan’s Covid-19 positivity rate remained below 3 per cent while the daily count of cases was below 1,000. The improvement has been possible due to the ongoing vaccination drive that has included those above 12 years.

During the last 24 hours, a total of 1.052 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC), the country’s nerve centre monitoring coronavirus situation.

All schools and educational institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have been directed to administer coronavirus vaccine to their pupils aged 12 and above as no student of the age group will be allowed to attend classes after Oct. 31 without at least one jab. Likewise, November 30 has been fixed as the final date for complete vaccination.

100% jab certificate

According to the FDE’s notification, all educational institutions would work (Monday-Friday) according to already notified timing while Saturday will be observed as Vaccination Day as per directions of the government. The FDE has notified that all heads of institutions are responsible to submit 100 per cent vaccination certificates of the teaching and nonteaching staff and all students (12 years and above) of their respective schools.

No let-up in dengue cases

In Islamabad, the tally of dengue cases has passed beyond 1,000 with 100 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
