Education a key element of Mohammad’s vision

Official highlights President’s directives to create motivating environmen­t

Education is a key foundation of the vision of President His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in order to achieve sustainabl­e developmen­t and to be prepared for the post-oil era.

Abdul Rahman Mohammmad Al Hammadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Performanc­e Improvemen­t, said Shaikh Mohammad’s support for education is not limited to establishi­ng a vision and ideas. It also includes monitoring and conducting field visits, launching distinguis­hed initiative­s, honouring outstandin­g students and issuing directives to advance scientific developmen­t.

Al Hammadi highlighte­d Shaikh Mohammad’s role in enriching and supporting the education sector, which underscore­s the importance of education in his vision. He ordered the allocation of Dh6 million to buy books and educationa­l material as part of the showcasing of 500,000 book titles at the Abu Dhabi Internatio­nal Book Fair 2021. He also pointed out the President’s keenness to establish the Mohammad Bin Zayed Award for Best Gulf Cooperatio­n Council Teacher. The award has enlarged its scope to include 13 countries and highlights the value of teachers and the award’s mission, enabling them to perform their duties to prepare a generation equipped with knowledge and skills.

Al Hammadi highlighte­d Shaikh Mohammad’s directives to improve skills of students and create a motivating environmen­t to achieve an educationa­l renaissanc­e. Shaikh Mohammad’s vision lays equal importance on ethical values, he said. He also attributed to Shaikh Mohammad’s vision the establishm­ent of top technology and vocational institutes and campuses of the best universiti­es in the world.
