5,000 students for Schools Games

Football competition will begin today while cricket starts from January 31

The football competition of the third edition of Dubai Schools Games Tournament will begin today at 9am.

Dubai Schools Games, the biggest of its kind in Dubai, is organised by ESM Co. in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and under the sponsorship of LIV Digital of the Emirates NBD, and it is scheduled to be concluded on June 24.

The tournament is held with participation of 5,000 male and female students from 220 schools, who compete in 22 sports competitions.

The football competition is scheduled from January 1626 with participation of more than 1,500 male and female players from 35 schools, representing 126 teams.

Participants in this competition will compete in eight categories. These are: U13 & U15 categories for girls and U 10, U11, U12, U13, U14 & U15 categories for boys. Matches of the first week will take place at Shabab Al Ahli Club Stadium in Al Aweer from January 1619. In this regard, the U13 competition

for girls will be held today with participation of 16 teams, while the U15 competition for girls will see 14 teams participate.

The U10 competition for boys will commence on Wednesday with participation of 16 teams and the U 11 competition for boys will start on Thursday with participation of 16 teams.

The cricket competition will be held on January 31-February 1. and the athletics competition will begin on February 20-21.

The rugby competition will be organised from February 27-March 2.
