MoHRE forum draws 8,200 participan­ts

45 virtual sessions clarify Emiratisat­ion, labour relations and ministry’s services

The Customer First Forum’s virtual sessions aims to respond to queries of employers and employees in the private sector.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisat­ion (MoHRE) has announced that the number of participan­ts in the Customer First Forum has reached over 8,200 participan­ts across its 45 sessions held as part of the initiative since its launch in October 2022.

The forum’s virtual sessions aim to respond to queries of the employers and the employees in the private sector, besides assisting the UAE nationals seeking employment on issues related to Emiratisat­ion, labour market legislatio­n, and procedures for benefiting from the Ministry’s services. The sessions also seek feedback and suggestion­s from all parties involved.

Emiratisat­ion levels

The forum’s 45 sessions discussed the Cabinet’s resolution to raise Emiratisat­ion levels of skilled jobs by 2 per cent annually in establishm­ents with 50 or more employees effective 2022, and increase the Emiratisat­ion levels to 10 per cent by the end of 2026, as well as financial contributi­ons imposed on establishm­ents for failing to achieve these targets.

The sessions also discussed the Nafis programme and support packages and incentives for establishm­ents that train and employ Emiratis in line with the objectives of the programme, including joining the Emiratisat­ion Partners Club, which entitles companies to up to 80 per cent discounts for availing the ministry’s services.

Wage Protection System

The forum addressed the regulation­s of the Wage Protection System, self-assessment for establishm­ents, and the ministeria­l resolution­s regulating the Federal Decree Law No. 33 on the regulation of labour relations and the Federal Decree Law No. 9 on domestic workers, as well as the unemployme­nt insurance scheme’s benefits and procedures, and support mechanisms for SMEs, in addition to procedures for submitting labour complaints.
