Dubai Opera to host five events

Musicals, dance shows, and concerts offer something for everyone

Kicking off 2023 in style, Dubai Opera will host five key performanc­es in February and March. The venue will bring its popular musicals, shows, and concerts to the UAE, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Here’s a quick look at what’s in store.

OMAR KHAIRAT (ARABIC CLASSICAL)

The renowned musician will perform at the Dubai Opera once again, which starts at 9pm on February 3. Omar Khairat Band, Khairat was born in Cairo and raised in a family of musicians, including his uncle, Abou-Bakr Khairat, an Egyptian composer of classical music. Tickets start from Dh295.

THE GIPSY KINGS BY TONINO BALIARDO (FLAMENCO)

The Gipsy Kings by Tonino Baliardo, also known as the “kings of Catalan rumba”, will deliver an exciting and high-energy performanc­e on February 5 starting 7.30pm.

The Gipsy Kings introduced millions of listeners to a unique, irresistib­le blend of traditiona­l flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Tickets start from Dh295.

LUDOVICO EINAUDI (CLASSICAL)

After three soldout performanc­es at Dubai Opera in 2018 and 2019, the composer and pianist returns with a highly anticipate­d concert on February 10 and 11, with performanc­es starting at 8pm. Tickets start from Dh250.

BALLET ICONS GALA 2023 (BALLET)

Following its success last year, The Ballet Icons Gala 2023 returns to Dubai Opera with a stellar internatio­nal cast celebratin­g the beautiful art of ballet with a highly acclaimed star-studded event hailing from London.

The show, starting at 8pm on March 8, will witness performanc­es by internatio­nal ballet stars from the world’s most prestigiou­s ballets. Highlights include performanc­es from classical ballets. Tickets start from Dh300.

BONOBO (ELECTRONIC)

Bonobo aka Simon Green will perform on March 8 starting at 8pm. One of the biggest names in dance music, Green’s career includes seven Grammy nomination­s. Tickets start from Dh350.
