UAE ambassador spends a day with orphanage children
Embassy offers winter clothing to children of Pakistan Sweet Home
Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, has visited the local orphanage ‘Pakistan Sweet Home’ (PSH) in Islamabad and distributed gifts among the children.
The visit was organised by the Embassy of the UAE under its Winter Donation Drive.
The ambassador who was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission (DHM) Rashid Al Ali and staff of the UAE embassy donated some 500 blankets and 300 jackets to the PSH kids and acknowledged the Sweet Home administration’s efforts in housing and feeding orphans not only in Islamabad but also in other parts of the country.
“Supporting an orphan and enabling him to stand on his feet is indeed a noble task and the PSH’s founder and the head Zamurd Khan deserves our praise for carrying out this great mission,” Al Zaabi said.

Impressed
PHS is not only running the orphanages, it is also bearing children’s educational expenses besides their housing and health care etc. Many passing out students of the PSH schools are studying at professional colleges and universities which is a great source of satisfaction for us all, said the ambassador.
“I am very happy and impressed by meeting these children and their passion, courage, and confidence won my heart. Your father Zamurd Khan deserves a tribute who took up and carried out this great mission in a very good manner,” he said.
He assured all out support in this great mission and held that the UAE embassy was always ready for all possible cooperation. The cadets of the PSH on the occasion presented a guard of honour, while children performed
tableau highlighting various shades of Pakistan’s rich culture.
Zamurd Khan while expressing gratitude to the ambassador said his visit reflected the sincerity and generosity of the UAE towards Pakistan.
The UAE embassy has always supported the PSH children including education and other expenses.
Cadet college
“The PSH was established with one child in the year 2009 and today thousands of boys and girls are part of this initiative,” he said.
We have also set up the firstever cadet college only for orphans in Gujar Khan, a small town near Rawalpindi, where more than 200 cadets are studying.
Besides Islamabad, the sweet homes are also set up in Karachi, Sukkur, Sargodha, Gujar Khan, Kashmir, and North Waziristan where thousands of orphans are learning education under the supervision of highly qualified faculty and in the best possible environment.
