- Gulf News Report

The Emirates Group will soon train Emirati country managers under a programme launched in collaboration with Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA).

The programme is designed to enhance the diplomatic skills of Emirati managers stationed around the world, and forms part of the airline’s new Commercial Ambassador Leadership Programme.

A ceremony to celebrate the signing of the agreement was held at the Emirates Group headquarters, attended by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline, and Group and Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the President of the UAE, and member of the board of trustees at AGDA.

The AGDA’s five-day programme will provide Emirati country managers with a comprehensive understanding of the diplomatic skills needed to effectively represent the Emirates Group abroad. The courses will also serve as a platform for knowledge exchange to enrich Emirati managers’ capabilities.

The Commercial Ambassador Leadership Programme focuses on the development of leadership skills in four areas, including international protocol and global trends, media skills, people engagement and management, and diplomacy.

The programme supports Emiratis who have joined Emirates Group’s National Commercial Outstation Programme. This places them in strategic roles across the Group’s global markets.

In these roles they take responsibility for driving commercial objectives and enriching relationships with key local partners and regulators. They also engage with communities and the public sector.

AGDA’s five-day programme will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange to enrich Emirati capabilities.
