Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are lead actors in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’
The first look of the upcoming Bollywood film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani was unveiled yesterday, on its director Karan Johar’s birthday. The film reunites Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh four years after their last outing Gully Boy.
The film has been directed by Johar, who is returning to direction seven years after his last film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The birthday boy director Johar shared the looks of the star cast including veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
FLAMBOYANT AND GORGEOUS
The first look featured posters of Ranveer and Alia in their characters. Ranveer appeared flamboyant in his statement outfits whereas Alia looked gorgeous in a saree.
The first look posters state that Alia’s character belongs to Chatterjee family while Ranveer’s Rocky belongs to the Randhawa family.
Johar has shot the film extensively in New Delhi. Several photos from their outdoor shoot leaked online at the time of shooting, revealing that the film is adopting a retro vibe.
The film was wrapped earlier this year and was supposed to hit the big screen on April 28 but, it will now debut in theatres on July 28, 2023, a week after the big clash of Hollywood films Barbie and Oppenheimer.

Gyaarah Gyaarah, an investigative fantasy drama series starring Kritika Kamra, Dhairya Karwa and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles, is being co-produced by Johar and Guneet Monga. Directed by Umesh Bist (of Pagglait fame) and co-written by Puja Banerjee and Sunjoy Shekhar, Gyaarah Gyaarah spans across three decades and timelines — 1990, 2001 and 2016 — and blends mysticism, science, and mystery.
