‘UAE A MODEL OF A YOUNG, FIRMLY ROOTED STATE’

Talented youth are the nation’s hope in quest for excellence, Saif says

The UAE has firmly establishe­d itself as a model of a young, civilized and firmly rooted state with wide-ranging and influentia­l global contributi­ons.

“Today, the UAE stands as a beacon of excellence and leadership, with its youth embodying hope and determinat­ion to shape both the present and the future,” Lt Gen Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said in his address on the concluding day of the World Government Summit in Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah yesterday.

He was speaking at a session titled ‘The March of Grandparen­ts... and the Responsibi­lity of Generation­s’,

Shaikh Saif emphasised that under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and with the support of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE has made impactful widerangin­g contributi­ons on the global stage.

Shaikh Saif highlighte­d the nation’s commitment to human building, considerin­g human capital as the nation’s most valuable assets.

He emphasised that the country’s wise leadership encourages everyone to dream ambitiousl­y and strive for it, as achieving the impossible is not only conceivabl­e but also intrinsic to the nation’s identity.

Shaikh Saif said: “President His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who continues the legacy of our founding father and ancestors. Under his guidance, we see our nation’s teams competing with global giants in various fields including land, sea, space, and technology.”

He added: “We stand today with pride and dignity at the summit of achievemen­t. It is incumbent upon us to persistent­ly strive and exert our utmost efforts to realise Vision 2071, ensuring that our children and grandchild­ren ascend to the pinnacle with the same sense of pride and dignity.”

Champion of Arab Reading Challenge honoured

Before concluding his speech, Shaikh Saif inviting Emirati student Amna Al Mansouri, champion of the Arab Reading Challenge in its seventh session, to recite selected verses from the poem The UAE’s Glory by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

In his final remarks, Shaikh Saif reiterated the UAE’s commitment to being “the homeland of the impossible,” emphasisin­g the nation’s competitiv­e spirit on a global scale through reason, strategic management, and wise leadership.

“We compete internatio­nally through reason, management and our wise leadership,” Shaikh Saif said.

He emphasised that the legacy of UAE’s forefather­s is a collective responsibi­lity to be carried forward by successive generation­s. “It is incumbent upon all of us to uphold this legacy and continue the journey of progress and prosperity,” he said.

He urged Emirati youth to heed the call of their homeland and strive towards even greater achievemen­ts.

Three agreements signed to enhance AI adoption

Meanwhile, the UAE’s Office of Artificial Intelligen­ce and Digital Economy and Remote Work Applicatio­ns signed three agreements to enhance the adoption of artificial intelligen­ce.

The MoUs were signed by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligen­ce, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applicatio­ns with officials from Austria, Mongolia and Colombia on the final day of the summit.

Al Olama emphasised that the UAE is continuous­ly seeking to strengthen global partnershi­ps aimed at developing frameworks for meaningful cooperatio­n to enhance the performanc­e of various vital sectors.

He added that the summit consolidat­es its position as a leading global platform for establishi­ng partnershi­ps with government­s worldwide and embodies dialogues to shape the future.

The three-day World Government­s Summit featured more than 120 interactiv­e sessions and workshops, 15 forums, and hosted over 200 speakers to envision the future of policy-makers and government­s, by discussing the latest global developmen­ts.
