We are a country that loves sports. Whether it is cycling, showjumping, tennis or swimming, there is always some event or competition taking place somewhere. When it comes to horse riding and in particular showjumping, public interest is on the rise as it becomes more and more popular each year. It is an exciting time for the sport as The Gulf Elite Tour joins the national showjumping schedule with the aim of bringing about positive changes to the showjumping community of the UAE.
The Gulf Elite Tour, the TGET, consists of a series of six competitions to be held over the course of six months. Founded by Rosanna Chopra and her team, the tour has seven ambassadors from the riding community who will be promoting the TGET. One of those ambassadors,
Sheikh Ali Al Qassimi, hopes to raise the standard of riding athletes to a more professional level.
The competitions are held in Al Habtoor Polo Club and Resort in Dubai, chosen for its easy access for riders coming from all emirates as well as its first class facilities. In addition to the stunning location, the entertainment on offer caters to any spectator’s needs. At the first competition, which was held last month, there were VIP tents, food trucks, children’s games and much more. With such a successful start, one can only sit back and look forward to all the more exciting things to come from TGET.
