Fashion designers have launched capsule collections in honour of the Holy Month of Ramadan

With Ramadan just around the corner, designers have created special collections which embody the spirit of this special month. Designers such as Amal Alraisi, Bthaina, Endemage and Velvety Couture have their Ramadan collections featured at Voguish Boutique in Dubai. Since there are so many brands to choose from, we decided to sift through them to bring you our favourites.

Amal Alraisi

Designer Amal Alraisi’s designs are a tribute to women who are feminine but not delicate. Her Ramadan collection is sophisticated and romantic with feminine silhouettes, delicate draping and charming details.

Amal was inspired by the splendid colour and beauty of the Sultan Qaboos Rose, which holds a special place in the hearts of Omanis as it bears the name of His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said. And so the colour

palette of the designs feature rose gold, deco rose and purple dove, creating an ethereal sensibility.

Fabrics are delicate and versatile in metallic foiled georgette, pleated georgette and taffeta. Elegant silhouettes feature whimsical details in the form of capes, pleats, ruffles and fur pompoms. Exquisite rose pattern embroidery in gold and lilac thread takes shape on tulle dresses while intricate floral embellishments and beads adorn kaftans and abayas.

Bthaina

Buthaina Al Zadjali’s designs are modern and feminine with a focus on exquisite detail. She creates intricately hand embellished kaftans and abayas, taking inspiration from Eastern and Western elements. Her collection was inspired by Persian rugs and their mystical beauty. Ever since she was a little girl, she was mesmerised by their elaborate patterns and vibrant colours.

The Persian Spell collection incorporates bold colours, intricate hand embroidery and fluid silhouettes, creating a sense of elegant splendour. Buthaina worked with vibrant hues of royal blue, emerald green, forest, amethyst and blue grey.

Fluid kaftans and jalabiyas feature embellished capes, multi-coloured tiered layers and fluted sleeves. Gold thread is embroidered into flower patterns while hand embellished sequins adorn tulle layers. Tone on tone rope is knotted and threaded into unique patterns while tassels, tulle and fringes add a playful element.

Endemage

The brainchild of sister-duo Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani, the brand Endemage focuses on revolutionising the world of high-end women’s wear and Arab fashion. Meaning “the merging of two,” Endemage embodies ethnic chic and luxury through a range of ultra-feminine dresses, billowy evening gowns and Arabic designs as well as on-trend separates created using flowing chiffons and silks, embroidered with hand-stitching detailing, reminiscent of old

Omani patterns.

Their Ramadan collection draws inspiration from the Omani spice roots and traditions surrounding it. The designers focused on the festivities of Ramadan and Eid and created embroideries inspired by henna designs and fireworks celebrating the Holy Month.

The silhouettes are flowy and simple with their signature draping highlighted with embroidery.

The collection is made of soft silk fabrics and thin crepes perfect for summer in a blend of dusty pink, beige, grey, pistachio green and browns.

Velvety Couture

Founded in 2008 by Fatima Al Shammary, the fashion brand Velvety is synonymous with creative designs, charisma and love for all things precious. Al Shammary’s Ramadan collection is inspired to stimulate the oceanic and sandy nature of the gulf.

The colours and fabrics used are a mesmerising combination of soft sandy hues, sand dunes shades and relaxing aqua colours, colourful coral reefs and sea creatures, all bound together in harmony with golden stones and threads, and a touch of pearls.
