This season, outdoor living trends embrace personalisation and healthy living.

T his season, trends for outdoor living are following the hopeful, refreshing psychological cues of Pantone’s selection for colour of the year, ‘Greenery’, as well as the current embrace of Danish ‘hygge’, or comfort and pleasure – but with a personalised twist.

Sofas, chairs, tables and loungers that embrace simple lines and sculptural style will be paired with design classics. Furnishings are bold and fearless, and speak to our desire to customise our surroundings. They need to offer both style and substance, with natural materials such as wicker and rattan, as well as aluminium and technologically advanced materials that stand the test of time.

Outdoor ‘green’ spaces will feature environmentally friendly and technologically advanced landscaping and recreational spaces designed for overall simplicity and value, rooting 2017’s outdoor trends in lush, healthy living.
