DUBAI ARENA
The wraps have been taken off Dubai Arena which, when completed in 2018, will be the region’s largest all-purpose air-conditioned entertainment hub.
Able to seat up to 20,000 guests and covering 46,000 square metres, the stadium is being built by developer Meraas with the aim of hosting international music concerts, sports events and even weddings thanks to the provision of automated malleable seats.
Dubai Arena will be located inside City Walk, close to Dubai International Airport and accessible via the Dubai Metro.
His Excellency Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman, Meraas, said: “The new destination will enrich Dubai’s existing infrastructure and add a new state-of-the-art venue that will accommodate international events and raise Dubai’s credentials as a premium leisure and entertainment hub.”
The project management contract for the destination has been awarded to DXB Entertainment whose CEO, Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, said: “What makes Dubai Arena stand apart from its counterparts is its remarkable size, capacity and ability to be transformed from a theatre to a stadium, depending on the scale of the event.”
