Roar of the dragon

Plans have been announced for a second hotel at Dragon City, Nakheel’s giant retail, residential, hospitality and leisure destination.

The property will be located in Dragon Mart 2, created by Nakheel following the remarkable success of Dragon Mart 1 which welcomes more than 40 million visitors a year.

Construction work is underway on Dragon Mart 2 which will also accommodate a shopping mall and car park. The development will double the size of the original project to almost 335,000 square metres – the equivalent of 47 football pitches.

More than 1000 new shops are planned at Dragon Mart 2, as well as restaurants, cafes and kiosks, in a phased scheme which has been described as the biggest Chinese trading hub outside of mainland China.
