08 BEIJING HIGH LIFE
Due to be completed late next year is Leeza Soho, a 46-storey mixeduse tower with the world’s tallest atrium. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the 172,800-square metre structure is located in the Lize Financial Business District and straddles a new subway tunnel. The tower rises as a single volume divided into two halves on either side of the tunnel, with a 190-metre-high central atrium connecting the two halves. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification is being sought through the use of an advanced energy management system that integrates heat recovery from exhaust air and utilises high-efficiency pumps and fans.
