Dubai Creek has always been at the heart of the city, capturing its pulse with historic trade links. Now, thanks to GAJ’s master plan and the design of the Heritage Area, Al Seef is maximising the waterfront and heritage experiences of the area - and elevating its vibrant commercial and hospitality potential. This 1.8-kilometre extension to the Batakiya area is not only a monumental architectural accomplishment, it is also leading the positive a socio-economic surge in the area.
10 Design created Al Seef’s 670-metre contemporary zone, which has already become a hotspot for locals and tourists thanks to the opening of three new Jumeirah hotels.
From the traditional limestone Emirati architecture, to the sleek container–style cafes, shops and hotels, Al Seef is a sustainable community. The architects worked together to include features such as passive solar and shading, and to maximise natural lighting and ventilation.
Their efforts to put a renewed focus on the waterway provides a chance to explore the architectural charms of the past while basking in modern luxury.
