Lifetime Achievement Award
It takes more than vision and talent to create a body of work that will stand the test of time. Humility, a commitment to collaboration and an authentic belief in the power of design are what forge a true luminary. Isabel Pintado has embraced these characteristics, thus elevating the entire industry and region with her leadership.
For the better part of two decades the Dubaibased Anglo-Spanish interior architect has been a leader with both a respect for the region’s diversity and an eye on the future with her bold, innovative and experimental projects.
Initially working with Godwin Austen Johnson, she headed Interior Design Department and earned a reputation for excellence in hospitality projects. Next, she joined LW Design, expanding its global presence.
Most recently, she has been at the helm of Wilson Associates, serving as Senior Vice President and Managing Director MEA. Under her direction, Wilson Associates has doubled the number of designers and strategically moved the office to Dubai Design District (d3). It is now one of the most sought-after hospitality design firms in the EMEA region— accumulating accolades for high-profile projects, including the refurbishment of The Palace Hotel Downtown and the Marriott Resort Taghazout Bay in Agadir, Morocco.
But most importantly, we value the fact that she sees the virtue in building community and contributes her time and talents to charity and environmental causes.
Pintado’s long-term commitment to improving design in the UAE, and her sincere belief in enriching lives through design, are what captured our hearts and secured her place as our Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
