APPLE HAS GIVEN notice to the rest of the wireless speaker field with their announcement of the HomePod. But hey, it doesn’t hurt to be a little lesser, right? Wireless speakers have been with us for quite a while, and they’ve given us a whole new meaning when it comes to listening to our favourite tunes or just simply ticking off our neighbours with our death-metal tracks (not to mention a sometimes-annoying kabayan favourite, videoke). Frankly, a good number of us would still be content with the simple good ol’ wireless speaker, one that would let us party all night and give that boom to our sound – and those that also wouldn’t keep us up all night wondering if it’s eavesdropping on us.
