LOVING VINCENT, THE first fully painted feature film, IS OUT

- ¶ Enid Parker

I t’s the world’s first fully oil painted feature film and we can’t wait to visit the theatre to experience it! We’re sure art enthusiasts will be even more eager! Focusing on the life and death of one of the most famous artists of all time, Vincent van Gogh, this film has received a lot of positive reviews so far. “Every one of the nearly 65,000 frames in this nearlunatic labour of love was rendered by hand with oil paints, following a style intended to mimic that of the master,” writes Peter Debruge of Variety. A.O. Scott of The New York Times also dishes out some praise in his review, writing, “A long and arduous labor of love by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, this film turns van Gogh’s work into an unusual kind of biopic.” Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian calls the film “an impressive but weirdly exasperating exercise in style.”
