Maxtalent taste mixed success on Oman tour

dubai — Maxtalent Global Sports returned to UAE after a cricket tour to Oman where they tasted mixed success in the MGS –MCCC Challenge Cup.

In the under 11 category, Maxtalent were crowned champions after they defeated Muscat Indian School by five wickets. Muscat were bowled out for 95 in 18.4 overs after put into bat with Siddharth Manoj claiming five wickets. In reply, Eshan (18) and Divij Wadhwa (17) made 43 runs in 7.3 overs to put the team on the path to victory. Lingesh Kumar (14) also contribute­d.

The under 13 squad gave a good account of themselves by winning three of the four matches before crashing out. The third team of under 16 suffered a six-run defeat in the semifinals against Indian School Muscat.

Batting first, Indian School made 225-3 in 25 overs with Paritosh (73), Rane (55) and Prathamesh (25) piling on the runs. In reply, Keith Pinto struck a gritty 117 but his effort went in vain as Maxtalent finished on 219-7 in 25 overs.
