Have you ever dreamt of cycling through rugged hilltops and exotic wildlife? Now, here’s your chance. Participants will be able to cycle across Sir Bani Yas Island before setting up their tents for a camping adventure in an exotic and unique atmosphere. The extensive salt dome hilltops that dominate Sir Bani Yas Island provide the best terrain for hiking and mountain biking in the region. The peaks are made of vertical cylinders of salt that are over 6 kms deep and 3 kms wide and are thought to be the world’s largest salt dome mountains. The Mountain Biking and Camping Weekend will commence on Friday, 29th April at 1:45pm from Jebel Dhanna Sir Bani Yas Island jetty. Cyclists must be ready with their bikes and camping gear, before the group will make their way over to Sir Bani Yas Island to start cycling 30 kms towards the camp site. The day will end with a picture perfect barbeque dinner in the middle of the island’s 4,100 hectare Arabian Wildlife Park. After a night of relaxation and a vitalising breakfast, the cyclists will part into two groups and bike for either 30 or 50 kms until they reunite for a swim and lunch at Anantara’s Amwaj Beach Restaurant. To conclude the weekend, the cyclists will get to enjoy the dazzling surf of Sir Bani Yas Islands northern coast before heading back to the mainland. Essential: Participants are required to provide their own camping gear, mountain bikes, bike repair kits, helmets and closed sport shoes. A high level of fitness, as well as biking experience is required.

The weekend is priced at Dh500+ per person, including water taxi, access to the wildlife park, dinner, breakfast, lunch at the beach restaurant Amwaj, swimming and changing room facilities. For more, facebook.com/ AnantaraSirBaniYas.
