New blood and fresh ideas are crucial: VP

dubai — New blood and fresh ideas are crucial to the future of the UAE, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said at a brainstorm­ing session on Tuesday.

At the session — which was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and many of the UAE’s most important figures — Shaikh Mohammed said that collective thinking and the establishm­ent of open dialogue are the best ways in which to generate better ideas. “A government job is a lifelong mission to serve the people,” he said, adding that the UAE was “built by those who devoted their lives to the progress of the country”.

During the session, Shaikh Mohammed and his team reviewed their performanc­es, and discussed a number of upcoming projects and proposals from the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.

dubai — The UAE needs fresh thinking and new blood to realise its ambitions and meet the challenges of the future, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Tuesday.

His comments came during a brainstorm­ing session he chaired, which was also attended Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council; and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

During the session, Shaikh Mohammed said the UAE’s leadership greatly appreciate­s those who work tirelessly for the nation’s progress, and noted that the UAE is keen to enhance the living standards and services offered to its people. Giving the examples of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, he said that the UAE was “built by those who devoted their lives to the progress of the country.”

Shaikh Mohammed reviewed the work and ideas proposed by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, which comprises the General Secretaria­t of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Public Diplomacy Office, and also discussed the projects of The Executive Office, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative­s and Dubai Future Foundation.

The session was also attended by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Chairman of The Executive Office, Mohammed Al Gergawi; Secretary-General of the UAE Cabinet, Abdulla Al Basti; Director General of the Public Diplomacy Office, Saeed Al Eter; Director-General of The Executive Office, Abdullah Mohammed Saeed Bin Touq; Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation, Saif Al Aleeli; Assistant Director-General for Government Performanc­e, Maryam Al Hammadi; Assistant Director General for Strategy and Innovation, Huda Al Hashimi and Assistant Director-General for Government Services, Hessa Essa Buhumaid.
