India connects through life experiences
dubai — If you are fond of reading about inspirational people and their experiences, the newly launched book, The India Connection is the right one for you.
The book takes you through the lives of Indian entrepreneurs and prominent personalities. Part of a series titled ‘Actions and Insights’ which discusses Mena affairs, the book was launched in the presence of Shaikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance; and Anurag Bhushan, Consul-General of India in Dubai, on August 30 at the Convention Tower, World Trade Centre, Dubai.
The event was graced by authors of the book — Dr Immanuel Azad Moonesar, Assistant Professor at MBRSG; and Dr Melodena Stephens Balakrishnan, Associate Professor at The University of Wollongong in Dubai — and Dr Ali Sebba Al Marri, Executive President, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government.
“The UAE has ratified an increasing number of cooperation agreements with India in political, cultural and economic arenas. We look forward to seeing more research conducted on this historic relationship between the two countries that will go a long way in strengthening the bond” said Shaikha Lubna.
Anurag Bhushan highlighted the bond between India and the UAE and he pointed out the historical, cultural, trade and investment connection between both the countries. “Indians have a prominent presence in this part of the world, earlier it was restricted to merchants only but now we have Indian professionals from every possible field here .... Other than this we have 700 direct flights to connect the two nations and I can foresee a good future of this connection.”
“I am honoured to be a part of this wonderful book,” said Indian entrepreneur and media personality Uma Ghosh Deshpande was present there at the event.
Another experience was shared by Shobika, a differently abled girl, who has also contributed her story in the book.
She emphasised on the inclusion of disabled people in society and how positive attitude can make a difference in a wheelchairbound person.
