Wasl and Nasr register wins

UAE sides Al Wasl and Al Nasr registered wins on day three of the second Dubai International Junior Basketball Championship at the American University of Dubai campus, Monday night.

Also winning were event favourites Partizan of Serbia and Egypt’s Al Ahly, and they topped groups B and A respectively with an all-win record in the pool stages. In the Monday’s action, Al Wasl beat Dubai’s Al Shabab 39-20; Al Nasr steamed past Dubai’s Al Ahli 55-31; Partizan nailed Al Riyadi (Jordan) 61-28; and Al Ahly (Egypt) downed Bayern Munich 52-35. All the four teams from each group now move on to the quarters and will play according to the standings achieved, where the group winners play the sides finishing last in the pool rounds, while the group runners-up play the third placed pool phase finishers.
