Ex-Springbok Botha joins Lyon

South African prop Brendan James Botha has signed for TOP14 side Lyon, the French club said on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old has been brought in to replace Georgian prop Zaza Navrozashvili. Botha had been playing in Ireland since 2008 first for Ulster (2008-2011) and then for Munster from 2011-2016. In January the South African ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Stade Francais and it was then decided that he would leave at the end of the season. —
