Guided by a committee of industry leaders, Climate Abu Dhabi is gearing to raise awareness on indoor air quality, need for regulations and maintaining international standards to ensure the healthy safety of UAE residents. In addition, the key areas of focus are sustainability, energy efficiency and innovations within the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) sector alongside process cooling and cold chain technologies.
There are several factors that are driving the market for HVACR equipment in the region, such as the upcoming Expo 2020 (Dubai, UAE) and the FIFA World Cup 2022 (Doha, Qatar). Abu Dhabi’s vision for 2030, along with its drive with Dubai towards novel green building solutions, is also contributing to demands.
As with every new venture, several concerns are bound to come up. Topics such as energy saving, air quality and life cycle cost are currently abuzz. Focus on these help drive growth and raise standards within the quality segment.
With the UAE’s increased focus on sustainability and green technologies, Climate Abu Dhabi stands as an ideal platform for HVACR manufacturers, distributors and retailers to showcase state-of-the-art innovations that cater to the low-cost, energy-efficient and high performance concept. Abu Dhabi’s location further adds to its appeal as a venue for the forum, as it provides extensive connectivity with neighbouring countries and economic stability.
“As energy saving and indoor environmental quality become increasingly important globally, it is essential that key manufacturers focus their research and development in improving efficiency, reduce energy consumption and consequently reduce carbon emissions,” said Brian Suggit, Managing Director of Systemair, an HVACR supplier. He added that the UAE is set to follow in the footsteps of legislative bodies in Europe, who have implemented a goal to increase use of renewable energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20 per cent in the next four years.
With this in mind, HVACR has a big role to play in the future with energysaving potential and attracting investments in manufacturing as well as research and development, while regulatory bodies and other related organisations in the MENA region require proper coordination to integrate these plans into society and develop high standards.
Adopting these views in the UAE would yield positive results for Abu Dhabi in achieving its environmental vision 2030.
