dubai — Two men raped a job seeker after offering her a ride in their car to attend an interview, the Court of First Instance was told.

A Pakistani man and his compatriot friend, aged 32 and 30, allegedly used a stun gun to assault and threaten the Filipina victim, to make her comply before raping her.

Public prosecution records show the accused not only kidnapped her but also stole her mobile phone, golden ring worth Dh1,000 and Dh100 in cash.

The complainant, a 31-year-old receptionist, said she posted an ad on a popular website with her mobile number hoping to find a job.

She received a phone call around noon on May 23, 2015 from a man. “He told me to wait for him at the metro station in Al Mankhool at 4pm.”

When the duo came to pick her up, the woman was busy on a call from her home country.

A police corporal told the court: “The first accused admitted he had called the woman after finding her number on a website. He told he would find her a job where he worked.

“He lured her to wait for him in Al Mankhool where he picked her up with his friend. Both of them admitted they raped the woman after luring her to meet them for a job interview.”

The accused also confessed they stole the woman’s mobile phone, health card and bank card.

The second defendant sold the complainant’s phone to a man for Dh1,700.

The man then handed it over to the police after realising it was stolen, which led to the arrest of the duo. The police recovered the woman’s personal cards from the defendants’ car. The stun gun was seized.
