dubai — Al Wasl coach Rodolfo Arrubarrena and right back Khalid Sabil cautioned their side not to be over confident when they take on Al Jazira who have a number of their players on national team duty.

After three wins in as many matches and without having conceded a goal yet, The Cheetahs look in fine early season form, just as was the case during the 201516 season. They meet Jazira in the Arabian Gulf Cup league cum knockout tournament at Baniyas Stadium in Abu Dhabi at 8pm, Wednesday.

Jazira have one defeat and one loss in their opening matches of the Cup and will have to rely heavily on their imports and a handful of experienced men in midfield and up front.

“In the Arabian Gulf League we scored a win over Jazira and with ours a near full strength side without anyone away on national team duty, things look good but if this attitude is taken too deep I warn of unwanted results. We have to play the same solid way like in our opening rounds of both championships,” said Argentine Arrubarrena for whom this is his debut season in the UAE.

Sabil, whose standout performances in defence in all the matches so far has been inspiring and is a picture of absolute self confidence, said: “In the defence department at present we look good but I have been able to perform depending on how my team mates have supported me. Their contribution on and off the field has been wonderful so far.”

“We should guard against taking things easy no matter how the first half or any part of the match in Abu Dhabi develop on Wednesday night. We have gelled well so far and I hope to contribute further to my team,” Sabil added.
