It’s time to hit the gym

- Saman Haziq

Do you think you are not feeling up to the mark? Are you feeling low and unhappy? Then it’s time you hit the gym. Although the stress is on eating right, exercise can help change the level of chemicals in your brain, such as endorphins and stress hormones.

“Many people are trapped in the net of lifestyle diseases, but fortunately majority of the health problems can be avoided with a good diet and a workout plan. So try a gym. It will be your best bet. Going to the gym is the right way to discipline yourself, as it not only increases your fitness level but also lifts your mood, improves sleep, increases your social contact,” said Gold’s Gym regional fitness manager Eduardo.

Gold’s Gym, the international fitness division under Al Ahli holding group in the UAE, was recognised as ‘The Most Admired Retailer of the year Spa & Wellness at Images Retail ME 2016 last week. The Retail ME Annual awards, a culmination of the Middle East Retail Forum, commemorates retail excellence and honours top performing retailers and retail practices in the Middle East.

“Our body is designed to move and with the right fuel (food) and good exercise we can increase the quality of life,” Eduardo said.

Eduardo recommended that the minimum one should spend working out is 2 to 3 times per week doing moderate activity from 30 to 45 minutes.

“A beginner can start with walking, jogging or just stretching and gradually increase the activity. You will see how your sleep pattern gets better and how the energy levels increase.”
