abu dhabi — Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah took four wickets for 86 runs to help bundle West Indies out for 224 in the first innings and later said the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium wicket has started to help spinners.

“Abu Dhabi wicket, as expected, has started assisting the spinners. The fourth day is going to see things getting better for spinners,” he said at the Press conference.

“We will try to give a target of 460-470 to chase.”

Despite a lead of 228 runs, skipper Misbah-ul-Haq didn’t impose a follow-on even when he could have.

Defending the decision, he said: “Our bowlers were tired. Fast bowlers needed time to recover. This was the reason why we avoided imposing a follow on.”

Anyhow, Misbah is known for safety first approach.

Yasir has played with different balls recently. Sharing his experience, Yasir said he had trouble adjusting to the red ball.

“It’s after a while that I am playing with the red kookaburra ball and I have a bit of a trouble. I bowled with the duke ball when playing against England. Pink ball gets soft after 30-35 overs but its seam remains intact. Here the ball is hard but seam gets damaged.”
