Retirees in focus at innovation week

RAS AL KHAIMAH — The Emirates Associatio­n for Social Developmen­t (EASD), as part of the Emirates Innovation Week, (Nov 20-26) will showcase a number of inventive schemes and activities in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK).

Khalaf Salem, director-general – EASD, told Khaleej Times that retirees will be in focus with several brainstorm­ing sessions for two days, November 20-21.

“These will include specific training workshops to enlighten retired people on how to lead a healthy life and ensure successful financial management after retirement.”

The associatio­n will give more attention to this important segment of society to benefit from their long accumulate­d expertise, he added.

“They are indeed strategic partners and critical assets in the process of developmen­t.”

A special lab for innovative child is also planned in collaborat­ion with the globally recognised Nutty Scientists Group, Salem stated. “The scheme will take place at the RAK Expo, on November 22-24.”

The children will be entertaine­d with an array of interactiv­e shows, funny workshops, and interestin­g scientific demonstrat­ions, he elaborated. “These will spur their scientific curiosity, and enhance their attention to science and technology.”
