Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla with their daughter, Max. On December 1, 2015, they’d announced the birth of their child with a plan to give away 99 per cent of their fortune in Facebook stock towards charity. On September 1, they added $95 million to the coffers of their charitable initiatives.
SAYING IT WITH FLOWERS:
A student at the University of Witwatersrand offers flowers to South African anti-riot policemen during a running battle with the police forces on campus, during a mass demonstration on October 4 in Johannesburg. Police fired rubber bullets, stun grenades, and teargas at student protesters as authorities tried to re-open the university after weeks of demonstrations. The university, along with many campuses across South Africa, were closed for at least two weeks during protests over tuition fees.

Nicholas James ‘Nick’ Vujicic is an Australian motivational speaker born with phocomelia, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of legs and arms. He delivered a talk on how an individual can overcome life’s challenges by keeping a positive attitude, at the Sharjah Expo Centre on November 17. He stressed on the importance of self-belief and motivated people to chase their passion. The event was attended by over 1,500 students and topics such as bullying, persistence, and determination were addressed.
HOpE AFLOAT:
Migrants, most from Eritrea, jump into water from a crowded wooden boat as they are helped by members of an NGO during a rescue operation in the Mediterranean, about 13 miles north of Sabratha, Libya, on August 29.
