RELATIONS BETWEEN the UAE and India are broad and strong. The two countries share bonds dating back centuries covering the economic, social, cultural and technological spheres.
Strong bonds of friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries are set to grow even stronger in the years to come with the visit of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to India as the chief guest for Republic Day celebrations from January 24-26.
Close ties between Emiratis and Indians can also be gauged from the fact that the Indian community is the largest expatriate group in the UAE. The UAE has become a land of opportunity for scores of Indian expats. In the first of our series, we look at the early days of some of these businessmen when they first set foot on this land.
