Easy for OMG, Arenco, and DIB Knight Riders
dubai — OMG, Arenco IT and DIB Knight Riders all impressed with fine victories as the ICC Academy Challengers Cup 2017, the first indoor tournament of the season, enters the second week, at the ICC Cricket Academy indoor facilities at the Dubai Sports City.
Arenco IT recorded two victories against CBD and Cobras.
In the first match, Arenco IT batted first and amassed 57. Leslie (14) and Muthu (13) gave a good start with Sohail also hitting 12. In reply, CBD did not have a great start but the pair of Manohar and Kumar who both scored 17 each provided the fightback. But with the other batsmen failing to contribute much CBD could muster only 34.
DIB Knight Riders also secured wins in both their matches. They first defeated SFS and then beat Faisal 11.
Batting first, DIB Knight Riders achieved 61 as Omer PG (13), Aamir (11) and Shabir JR (10) made crucial contributions. In reply, SFS managed d 55. In their second match, Faisal 11 suffered a great shock with an exceptional performance from man of the match Adnan who scalped six wickets as Faisal 11 could post only 26.
In reply, DIB Knight Riders achieved 87. Almost all batsmen contributed with Adnan again emerging the star with a fine 17. Aamir (16), Asif (15), Wali (15) and Umer (12) were among the other scorers.
But Faisal 11 had their time to rejoice as they trounced DBMSC – B in a one-sided match.
DBMSC – B batting first managed only 11 and in reply Faisal 11 posted 61.
