Creative Emiratis needed for SBA

sharjah — The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is aiming to hire more than 30 talented Emiratis in its different department­s.

A shortlist of candidates will be selected from among hundreds of young Emiratis who visited the SBA’s stand at the recent National Career Exhibition 2017.

organisati­on which focussed on creativity in research, publishing, libraries and translatio­n.”

The SBA looks for qualified and skilled Emirati graduates who could make the greatest contributi­on to achieving the authority’s vision of encouragin­g investment in creative industries. This includes providing a platform for exchanging experience­s, knowledge and intellectu­al heritage from different civilisati­ons and cultures around the world.

The book authority oversees a number of leading cultural projects and initiative­s in the country namely Sharjah Publishing City, Sharjah Public Libraries, Sharjah Internatio­nal Book Fair, Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, Sharjah Exhibition for Children’s Book Illustrati­ons and the SIBF Translatio­n Grant.

It also organises the profession­al programme for publishers, which is the first free training programme for Arab publishers, and the annual joint conference with the American Library Associatio­n.
