Haven’t tried camel milk? You should
dubai — Once a staple in Bedouin diet, camel milk is making its way to tables across the globe, and Camelicious stands as a key driver behind the phenomenon with innovative consumer products.
The brand, manufactured under Emirates Industry for Camel Milk & Products (EICMP), specialises in a premium selection of flavoured beverages, labneh and cheeses centred on camel milk.
Raising the bar, Camelicious introduced novel products at the latest edition of Gulfood. These includes an all-natural energy drink; special concoctions exclusively formulated for men, women and children; 10 new icecream flavours including dates, cinnamon, ginger, saffron and cardamom; long-shelf-life milk; and cappuccino and latte, as well as powdered milk and instant drink sachets.
Mutasher Al Badry, deputy general manager and business development manager at EICMP, told Khaleej Times that Camelicious has the upper hand in the export market for a variety of reasons, including its dedication to stringent quality control, HACCP procedures, sustainable farming and other global practices.
“We are the only camel milk brand and dairy production facility in the world to receive EU Commission approval to export to the EU zone. We also export to other countries such as Malaysia, Russia and the US, to name a few,” he added.
Looking ahead, the company is set to expand its reach to other markets such as Australia and Japan, alongside distribution in existing locations such as the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Malaysia, Brunei, Oman, Saudi Arabia and others.
Camelicious is actively involved in promoting the health benefits of camel milk beyond the region through credible research and awareness campaigns.
“We also invite visitors to our farms where they can see how we raise our animals and how we offer a sustainable farm for the future, which we consider a gift from the UAE to the world,” said Mazen Mohamed, production development and production QC manager at EICMP.
