Khattak announces district comprising Palas and Kolai
peshawar — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Saturday announced a permanent district comprising Kolai and Palas sub-divisions and said the people of Kohistan should forge unity as it would bring prosperity and development to the area.
Addressing a representative jirga of Kohistan, he urged the area people to shun differences and promote understanding and reconciliation for their own benefit. He said the people of Kohistan should focus their energies to exploit resources of their area and change their socio-economic conditions.
The chief minister said that unity among people of Kohistan was his utmost desire and the announcement for third district was made as it was the best available option to remove differences among the people of Kohistan according to their wishes and aspirations.
He said the new district was necessary for the development of the area as differences were creating hurdles in the development process. He said the move would give impetus to the ongoing development work in Kohistan.
Pervaiz Khattak deplored performance of the previous government and said that countless accomplishments had been achieved by the provincial government which took numerous steps for the development of province, including promotion of education and laws against usury and corruption.
The chief minister said the province was on course to progress and confidence of investors was strengthening, adding the government would hold a road show in china soon to attract foreign investment.
He said the government would add 4000MW of electricity in the system before the end of its tenure that would create jobs through rapid industrialisation, thereby eliminating poverty.
He claimed that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf would again come to power owing to its performance and record development work. — APP
