Dubai Municipality opens Dh6m public park
— As part of the UAE Plantation Week activities, the Dubai Municipality has opened its fourth park to promote culture of plantation and expand green areas in the emirate. It is opening a total of five parks during the week-long programme under the slogan “Let’s plant a greener emirates together”.
Senior officials opened Al Mizhar 2 Park on Wednesday by planting a set of trees and touring a side exhibition, which featured a range of decorative and agricultural projects implemented by the Dubai Municipality across the emirate.
The Dh6 million park, which occupies an area of 1.7 hectares, is characterized by its unique design with 0.88 hectares featuring decorative planting.
The Public Parks and Horticulture Department provided service facilities in the park including a major plaza, soccer field area of 1,243 square metres, two volley ball fields, children playgrounds for kids in the agegroup of 2-5 years and 6-12 years, and a 465-metre-long jogging track.
The park includes 45 palm trees, 103 decorative trees, 265 bushes, and 2,928 square metre of green spaces and a 655 sqm stretch covered with flowers.
The civic body kicked off the week with the opening of Al Warqa’a 3 Park on Sunday; Nad Al Sheba 2 Park on Monday; Al Khawaneej Pond Park on Tuesday; and Al Mizhar 2 Park on Wednesday. Hatta Valley Park and the Hatta Square are the other parks that will be opened on Thursday.
