Spinneys equestrian finale today

dubai — The grand finale of the 11th edition of Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championsh­ip, organised by Emirates Equestrian Federation, will take place on Friday at Desert Palm Equestrian Centre, Dubai, a Press release said.

The prestigiou­s Equestrian Championsh­ip is organised in associatio­n with Dubai Police by Dubai Tourism and MASERATI.

Known as one of the largest equestrian shows in the region, this show has grown in popularity and registered numbers since its inception. More than 3,000 visitors registered to attend the show, which incorporat­es three Olympic discipline­s - Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country, all in one day. The show is the culminatio­n to a very full season for the Emirates Equestrian Federation Championsh­ips 2017.

Commenting on the event, Tariq Albwardy, Director for Albwardy Group and Desert Palm Resort in Dubai, said, “We are happy to announce the Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championsh­ip 2017. Competitio­ns have been held at various centers throughout the UAE to qualify riders to take part in the championsh­ips held at the Desert Palm on Friday. The Dressage will be followed by the Show Jumping over a course of 12 fences and then riders will tackle the three kilometers (approximat­ely) Cross Country course over 22 different obstacles. The master scoreboard will keep everyone informed on each rider’s progress throughout the day.

“The show is one of the most celebrated events in the region, featuring a variety of equine related activities that appeal to a spectrum of age groups and background­s. Not only this event a key date for horse-lovers throughout the season, but also an amazing family day out. This is also an open day for Dubai Police and their families.

All kinds of people – male and female, young and old, occasional or obsessed - show their enthusiasm in celebratin­g this fast-paced and challengin­g sport,” Albwardy said.

Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championsh­ip is a highly-anticipate­d fixture on the annual calendar among experts, owners, breeders of horses, and the broader community.

The number of participan­ts has increased exponentia­lly in the horse show.
