What 10-minute daily activity would sharpen my mind over a year?
Here are some daily activities that can really sharpen your mind:
Take an improvised comedy class — Engaging in improvised comedy is an awesome work out for your brain. You are pushed to think on the spot without any preparation. Just imagine walking out on stage and creating a random scene with someone else right in that moment. I love ‘improv comedy’ because it helps you avoid overthinking and teaches you to trust your natural instincts.
Disconnect from social media - I like to pick at least one day a week where I disconnect from all my social media accounts. In this day and age most of us are addicted to these platforms and they govern our lives. Take time to free yourself of the addiction and appreciate the world around you.
Morning free-write - This is a practice that I highly recommend. Before you go to bed at night set a pen and a notebook by your bed. When you wake up the next morning immediately grab the pen and notebook and start writing. Write whatever comes to your mind. Express yourself and don’t stop. When you have nothing to say, write what you’re wearing or what you see in front of you.
Brain games - There’s a lot of them out there and they serve many different purposes. Some improve your mathematical skills, your vocabulary, and even your critical thinking skills. A simple Google search will point you in the right direction. Engage In intellectual discussions - Find and engage in intelligent conversations whenever possible.
