KGS STUDENTS SAY WHY THEY BACK THE IDEA

-

Mark Leo Kokkat, Grade 5

“These two values are extremely important in today’s world as we see people being displaced from their homes have moved to other countries. We need to show tolerance and generosity to them as we do not know how much they had suffered. We have to grow up learning these values so that they become our habits to help us adjust with people around us and create an amicable environment.”

Sian Shaijo, Grade 5

“There have been wars and some are still going on in the world. A few decades ago in the US there was a civil war that started just on the basis of colour. When our school incorporated values of tolerance and generosity, it has opened our minds and we have learnt to better adjust with each other. Such values today can produce tolerant leaders for tomorrow.”

brent Adrail D’Souza, Grade 5

“Tolerance and generosity are being taught to us in our school by not only words but actions. Our school has shown its generosity by giving ample of funds to the needy in Syria, Nepal and wherever there is need. We have a Red Crescent team of students who help in collecting donations and organizing charity events.”

Punya, Grade 5

“I feel these two values of being tolerant and generous can make a great impact in our community. If we are consciously given these values from a young age, like our school is doing, then I think we will grow up to be mature and tolerant adults and that is what the world needs now. And I feel its time that all schools adopt this practise to inculcate these values in students from a young age.”

Nishita Shaiju, Grade 5

“If we grow up with these values, then as tomorrow’s leaders we can create a more peaceful world by preventing conflicts, wars and fights over petty issues. We are learning to rise above our differences and being united as one strong human race.”
