- Ahmed Shaaban

ras al khaimah — The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested a gang of three robbers within 24 hours after they robbed Dh236,000 from a company.

Brigadier Abdullah Ali Menakhas, director of criminal investigations department (CID), RAK Police, said on Saturday they rushed to the crime scene after being alerted about the robbery. “Initial investigations showed that the suspects entered the company premises through some openings in the roof,” he said. “They stole a safe with Dh236,000 in it.”

The robbers also broke into another safe, but it only contained some documents, he added. A special team was formed to crack the case. “The police managed to identify one of the suspects who was working as a cleaner with the same company.”

Investigations revealed that the suspect had left for another emirate in an attempt to flee the country. “The RAK Police, in collaboration with the Al Ain Police, arrested the suspect. He admitted to committing the robbery with help from a friend of his.”
