Make a call and take a Careem ride in Dubai without the app
dubai — No app, no problem. Customers who want to hail a private ride but don’t have an app in their smart phones can now use the latest service introduced by Dubai-based ride-hailing app Careem which uses an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology instead of an app.
The system (Careem On Call) allows users to book a car in five seconds without downloading the app or setting up an account, according to Careem. “It targets people who are relocating or travelling to Dubai and aren’t familiar with the convenient world of ridehailing apps.
“Careem on Call has come about from an organic demand we see from small, medium and even large scale businesses who have parking challenges for their guests or where people struggle to get a car,” Faraz Syed, managing director of Careem Labs and Careem, said in a statement sent to Khaleej Times.
“Careem on Call is another way for us to help simplify people’s lives and enable them to get around town more easily. For those who are new to ride hailing apps, or passing through as tourists, our On Call service provides them with a quick and easy way to book a limo on demand,” he added.
A customer dials an Careem on Call (04 512 6232) then a car is automatically dispatched. The customer receives an SMS with the captain’s registration plate and his mobile number so the two parties can easily identify each other
Careem on Call network is now live across Dubai. From busy areas like the Dubai World Trade Centre to distant destinations such as the Farm in Al Barari and Al Qudra Trek Bike Centre.
