Condition of workers injured in crash stable

dubai — An Indian who was critically injured in an accident that claimed seven lives and injured 35 on Tuesday, has undergone a surgery and is being stablised in preparatio­n for another one.

A spokespers­on from New Medical Centre (NMC) Hospital, where six of the injured were brought in after the accident, said that the patient was being stabilised. “He will undergo another planned surgery in a couple of days,” said the spokespers­on. A patient who was admitted to the high dependency unit (HDU) is in a stable condition, while the other four are being kept under observatio­n. “They received head injuries and are being kept under observatio­n just as a precaution­ary measure.” Rashid Hospital, where six of the seriously injured victims were taken, did not give an update on their condition. The accident took place when the driver of a bus lost control after a tyre burst, crashing into a truck on the opposite side of the road. Four of the deceased were Indians, two were from Nepal and one from Pakistan.
