Triangle-shaped chicken samosa is a favourite among all age groups too. And not just iftar, it is among the top snacks taken by believers to break the evening fast. Chicken samosas start at Dh1 and the cost factor has made it the number one choice among the blue-collared workers to break fast. Otherwise a hot cup of tea is an apt combination for the snack. You may start by cooking chicken by mixing all spices – paste of ginger and garlic, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, fennel seeds and garam masala. Make the chicken masala dry by stir frying. Then make soft dough with maida, ghee and salt. Roll the dough in to thin round shape. You need to cut each round shape into four pieces. You may fill one tablespoon dry chicken masala in one of the piece of dough. Then fold into triangle shape. In to the final steps, you need to heat oil in a pan and deep fry samosa in it. In few minutes, you will have your chicken samosa ready to be served. The snack can be prepared in any size and form but mostly it is the triangular shape that is easily identifiable. The best thing about this tiny snack is it’s acceptance and uniting people across all religion.
